Hello Confused, The issue will either be an insufficient water fill or lack of water circulation. If the door opens at all, the detergent will be properly dispersed from the water circulation. Check for a proper water fill and for proper water circulation. When the unit is operating properly, about the only sound you can hear is the water spray inside the unit. If you cannot hear the water spraying, you should remove the screens at the bottom of the unit and check for any that might have become clogged. Most of the time, replacing the water inlet valve corrects this complaint, but you should at least check the screens as this can save you the trouble and expense of the replacement part if the filters turn out to be the issue.
