Ksmith for Model Number SHV6803UC/UC12 Our sliding mechanism either stays closed or slides right off. The spring is still there but just doesn't seem to work. I'm okay replacing the entire soap unit but feel that may not be necessary. Is this enough information to determine if I need to replace the whole unit? Thanks.
Answer KSMITH, with the dispenser door operating as such, the detergent lid 00166621 will need to be inspected for broken brackets. The actuator lever 00166632 and actuator 00166635 will also need to be inspected for any broken connections as well. Once these are verified as functional, the unit will need to be placed into a wash cycle with access to the dispenser and the actuator tested for voltage during the cycle. The actuator should receive voltage after the initial rinse wash to open the dispenser door and if it does not, the main control 00184605 has failed. If it does, then the actuator has failed.
