Scott for Model Number SHV4603UC/14 Bosch dishwasher wont drain. Can't find any obstruction and wife said she smelled something burning during last cycle. She also said that she heard the dishwasher beep to signal that it had finished the cycle. However, the dishwasher continued to run. Sounds like the drain pump? Your guidance is greatly appreciated.
Answer Hello Scott, This is normally caused by a bad water inlet valve 00263789. It will not allow the water to enter the unit at full force causing a "dribble" of water to drip into the base pan and float the flood switch. When the water valve is off, reach through the opening where the water valve mounts with a towel to "wick" the water out of the base before installing the new valve, (a towel with no fabric softener works best). This will reset the flood switch and allow the unit to cycle through normally. As far as the noise and smell, the drain pump 00165261 is the most common cause of this complaint. I'm sorry but the pump has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, October 30, 2014
