Kurt for Model Number SHU9952UC/12

The dishwasher won't complete draining at the end of any cycle- it always leaves about 1.5-2" of standing water in the bottom of the tub. The sink/garbage disposal drain just fine. If I remove the kick panel- I can manually push the arm on the float switch up using a long screwdriver, and then the drain pump turns on, and it does successfully empty the tub after 10-15 seconds- so it seems as though the pump itself works just fine, it just isn't being told to operate long enough. I've cleaned the mesh screen/basket assembly on the bottom of the tub, cleaned the whole area under the basket assembly very well- no debris or blockage anywhere. I pulled the dishwasher out, removed the pressure chamber and the hose manifold, cleaned the contacts on the switches in the pressure chamber, checked all of the that I can find hoses for clogs- no issues on any of these. There's no standing water anywhere within the bottom plastic tray under the dishwasher. After reassembling and doing a quick rinse & hold 10 minute run- no improvement- there's still the same standing water in the bottom of the tub. What else could be causing the dishwasher to refuse to finish draining?

Answer

Kurt, There is the possibility that the impeller on the drain pump is slipping not allowing the water to fully drain. The other issue would be a possible control board that is not keeping the pump on long enough or the drain does not go to a height of 32 " before going into the drain at the disposal.
