Peter for Model Number SHY66C Water fills the bottom tray and the pump would not shut off once the cycle is complete. I moved the dishwasher out to observe where the water is coming from. The Pressure Chamber has a hole in the upper section. When the relay opens the water supply, the pressure chamber starts leaking out of that hole towards the end of just about each of the three fill cycles. After about 4 to 6 washes, the there is enough water in the bottom to raise the float and cause the drain motor to run.The only way to stop it, is to empty the water. This dishwasher was designed to work this way, I guess.Anyway, I reduced the supply pressure to see if that would make a difference, but it did not. What is causing this problem? Should I replace the pressure chamber and/or switch level assy, or something else? Thanks for your advice!
Answer Peter, you need to replace the pressure chamber, just like you thought. " Normal fill:Water rises to proper level, pushing air in pressure chamber which operates diaphragm. Overfill:Water rises too high & operates float switch, causing drain pump to remove water from sump." Thanks and Good Luck Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, May 11, 2012
