Andy M for Model Number SHV46C03UC/14 Is it normal for there to be a couple of inches of water in the sump area after the cycle has run? We did have an issue with a higher water level after the cycle (visible water in the bottom of the main housing, over top of the perforated sump cover plate, and running onto the floor when the door was opened). I did a thorough of the sump and pump area (I removed the pump cover inside the sump, and didn't see any major blockage or anything that was preventing the pump impeller from turning). I also removed and cleaned the rubber check valve (there was a lot of "gunk" around that), but didn't replace it with a new one. Now it's no longer leaving so much water in the bottom to the point where it's visible when the plate and round filter piece are in place, but there is still a couple of inches in the sump when I remove those items and look in. Maybe it's always been this way, and I just didn't know because it's not visible unless I pull that filter or plate off and look inside. Or do I maybe need to replace that rubber flapper check valve?
Answer Andy, For there to be just a small amount would not be abnormal. The unit will have some water left in it just for the sole purpose of making sure seals stay moist. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, November 16, 2020
