Marji for Model Number Shu53 series Hello! Our dishwasher wasnt draining, so my son and I disassembled it, only to find that a mouse had built a nest which tripped the safety switch inside, the red one that apparently detects water on the inside floor of the unit. In the process of our exploration, we took apart the drain motor to see how it works and make sure it was ok. . When I woke up today, the first thing I thought about was that it was likely a mistake to "clean" the rotating magnet inside. What I am sure we did was remove the lube. We tested the dishwasher and it works fine now. Draining perfectly What we need to do, though, is lube that motor. Any suggestions for lubricant?
Answer Hello Marji, The rotating magnet inside the motor should be dry. Since the only friction that should be present is from the magnetic field. the only thing that would necessitate lubrication is the bushings on each end. This uses a light layer of white lube, but you would have to disassemble the motor to get the grease where it needs to be. I do not recommend the dis-assembly of the motor assembly. Read More...
