Diane for Model Number WTMC3300us/01 Will this keep the dryer from heating up at all and how do I test this part to see if it is bad?
Answer Hi Diane. Use a ohm meter to make sure all thermostats are closed and not open. The heater assy needs to read ohms or shorted. Next to the NTC r-2 is a resettable thermostat w/ a red button in the middle that trips at 347° electric model. If it has tripped a couple of times, you need to clean your entire vent system along w/ the vent cap outside so no moisture gets back into the dryer and clogs the vent. This in turn will cause the heater to expand too hot and open the thermostat part # 00422272. There is another thermostat part # 00422177. Heater assy. part # 00436460. The NTC's are temperature sensors. It comes w/ the heater assy. You will use a ohm/volt meter to test these individual parts part # MA-DM1. Thank You. Read More...
