Dryer lights turn on normal and programs can be changed but drum is not start turning and can only be moved manually. It does not make any noises. Called home warranty, they sent out a technician ($65 fee) who turned the dryer on/off, moved the drum manually and said it can't be repaired (I'm not making this up). Home warranty offered Lowe's ecard for $335 as dryer replacement. I just can't believe that the dryer I only used occasionally can't be repaired. Please help and thanks in advance.

Jim for Model Number WTA3510 UC/13 (FD 8201-)

When in Auto Dry mode the dryer runs, heats, and drys for 10 minutes or so, then stops with a "lint filter" light. After cleaning the little bit of lint from the filer and restarting it the dryer runs again for a bit until it stops with the same lint filter issue. I've tried this with the dryer vent hose disconnected. Airflow is fine. The little probe in the front cover behind the door just below the filter is unobstructed. I've removed the back cover, removed and cleaned the heating element as best I can, and assured the guts of the machine are clean. NOTE: *Running the dryer on timed heated dry works just fine.* No lint filter problem occurs.

Jim, it would be likely that the lint filter thermistor 10010119 is registering higher temperatures than it is exposed to. This can cause the unit to identify the air flow as being restricted. The thermistor should measure a resistance of 9K to 11K Ohms at room temperature.

dryer heating element turns off after a few minutes. I cleaned everything and tested the heating element and the temp fuse on the heating element. both are in continuity. I restarted the dryer and it works for a few minutes with heat. the heat then shuts off though the tumbler continues. it will not dry clothes as the heat stops turns off after several minutes. after it cools, it will heat again but just for a few minutes. what else should I be checking?

1 Answer

Hello Mark, this seems to be a result of a faulty temperature thermistor, the control board is thinking the dryer is hotter than it actually is, part 10010119.

Bob, If the sensor came with another sleeve then the other sleeve will need to be installed. It appears the manufacturer may have redesigned the part.

Hello D.J., You will need to begin by pulling any existing fault codes. This is done in the following manner: • While pushing & holding Start/Stop & Delicates buttons, rotate cycle selector knob to Extra Dry – Regular/Cotton.• Push Start/Stop button to start the test. Push Start/Stop button to scroll through fault codes (if more than one exists). Do not rotate knob through Off to avoid exiting test program.• Rotate the cycle selector knob to end the test.

Ray, with the ventilation cleared (to include what runs from the dryer duct to the outside) the thermistor 10010119 could be the potential cause. This sensor should measure 10KO at room temperature.

Tim for Model Number wta3500

I'[ve had this bosch dryer for a long time and it works great. Just recently when it has a wet load it will cycle on and off, clicking the relay every second or so, on/ off/ on /off.... It will eventually work itself out and run and dry the load. Turning the unit on/ off will help a little, but it will go back to cycling. If I run the dryer with nothing in it it doesn't do this, something to do with a wet load. Any ideas? Temp regulator? Thermostats? Relays on the control board? thanks, Tim T.

1 Answer

Tim, it sounds like the relay board is making the clicking noises you are hearing. You may a a relay that is not opening and closing properly. Part number for the relay power board is 00265677
