Ed for Model Number PRDS304 My back left burner is not igniting. When I turn it on it "clicks" and sparks but does not ignite. I can not smell gas either. Do I need to replace the solenoid?
Answer Ed, with the gas turned off to the entire unit, you will want to test the solenoid 00411253 for 110VDC when the burner is activated. If there is 110VDC at the solenoid, then the solenoid has failed. If there is not 110VDC, then you will want to test for 5VDC going to the simmer control board from the potentiometer 00189816 (potentiometer has been discontinued by the manufacturer, unfortunately). If there is 5VDC, then the simmer control 00422882 (unfortunately, this has been discontinued by the manufacturer) has failed. If there is not 5VDC, then the potentiometer has failed. You will want to visually inspect the wires going from the potentiometer to the simmer control and out to the solenoid for any breaks or bare wires. Read More...
