David for Model Number SGCS456RS I have a 6-burner Thermador Gas Cooktop Model #SGCS456RS and the two middle burners have issues. We bought this house in 2018. Cooktop installed about 2002. From time to time, the cook top made "clicking" noises which we were able to stop by unplugging the unit from the electricity. The lower burner never worked. And just last week, I had an independent, older tech guy look at it. We removed the cooktop, he inspected and cleaned it up and it doesn't seem to be delivering gas. Today, the upper burner in the middle section started clicking and some soft “clunking." I turned that burner on and it would light for a second or two, then go out, light for a second or two, then go out, light for a second or two, then go out... It is now unplugged. Called the tech who looked at the unit just last week. Could be a valve issue, a solenoid issue? Any suggestions? And are parts still available for this unit?
Answer David, based on the information provided, it sounds like there is an issue with the simmer controller 00497234. Unfortunately, the simmer controller kit has been discontinued and is no longer available. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, March 30, 2022
