This water filter base secures the refrigerator's replaceable water filter cartridge and directs filtered water to the dispenser and icemaker. Replacing a damaged base restores a proper seal and helps prevent leaks and flow interruptions. What it does:

  • Holds and seals the water filter cartridge so water passes through the filter media
  • Directs filtered water to the dispenser and icemaker plumbing
  • Prevents leaks caused by cracked or worn filter housing
  • Can resolve low water flow, intermittent dispensing, or water taste issues when base is leaking or not sealing
What's included:
  • One water filter base assembly
Install notes:
  • Turn off refrigerator and shut off the water supply before starting
  • Relieve system pressure by dispensing water until flow stops, if applicable
  • Remove the old housing carefully; inspect O-rings and replace if damaged
  • Hand-tighten only; check connections and test for leaks after restoring water and power

Answer

Chris, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not have instructions for replacing the filter housing. There is also no video available. In order to replace you will need to remove the filter. With filter removed you will remove the lower housing. Make sure that water supply is shut off and you may have to disconnect the water line at the water valve. The lower housing appears to just be clipped in. Then there will be a screw in the upper housing and holding in the filter head. Remove the screws and the filter head should come forward in which you will disconnect the tubing by pushing in on the ring around the tube, then pull the tube out at the same time.
