Marie P for Model Number 96576200 I have a kenmore dryer that I just replaced heating element. It heated for almost 30 minutes then quit blowing heat. What happens if you cross the wires and do I need a thermostat now??
Answer Hello Marie, If you cross a wire it can cause the element to burn out. You will want to test the element to make sure that it is still good. Also check your thermal fuses and thermostats by doing continuity checks on then to make sure that they are good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
