Felicia for Model Number FPHS2699KF0 The control panel on the front of our fridge does not do anything. The fridge/freezer temps still show, but none of the buttons work. Our ice maker is still making ice and fridge and freezer are still working fine also. The buttons were stuck on water dispense, and water was still coming out until today when our power went out. Is there an easy fix to this? Does the whole panel need to be changed? Thanks in advance!
Answer Felicia, the dispenser control board 241973712 would need to be tested for voltage at the connection J2. With the red probe of a meter on the red wire (black stripe) and the black probe on the black wire (white stripe) there should be 5VDC going to the user control. If there is, the control has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is not, the wiring at the hinge would need to be inspected for any broken wires. If there are no broken wires, the next step would be to test the main control at the connection J7. with the red probe on the red wire (black stripe) and the black probe on the black wire (white stripe), there should be 5VDC. If there is, there is a broken wire somewhere in the cabin of the refrigerator and would not be repairable. If there is not 5VDC, the main control 5303918498 has failed. Read More...
