Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Board-Control (Part Number: OEM15975438)

Felicia, the dispenser control board 241973712 would need to be tested for voltage at the connection J2. With the red probe of a meter on the red wire (black stripe) and the black probe on the black wire (white stripe) there should be 5VDC going to the user control. If there is, the control has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is not, the wiring at the hinge would need to be inspected for any broken wires. If there are no broken wires, the next step would be to test the main control at the connection J7. with the red probe on the red wire (black stripe) and the black probe on the black wire (white stripe), there should be 5VDC. If there is, there is a broken wire somewhere in the cabin of the refrigerator and would not be repairable. If there is not 5VDC, the main control 5303918498 has failed.

Hello George, the code refers to the rear main control and the door-mounted control panel board not communicating correctly. First check the wire harness from the freezer door to the ref cabinet for any wire problems if ok replace the control l panel board,241973712.

Tim, With having a problem with the user interface and the compressor not running this would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board.

Fred, If you remove the drip tray from the dispenser there should be a screw under it. You will want to remove the screw and pull out on the dispenser trim. Once off you will remove 4 screws holding the control cover in place. This will allow the control board to be replaced.

Mike, With the unit not working at all then this would most likely be an issue with the main control board of the unit which would be part number 241973712.

We bought a Frigidaire Professional and it worked great for a few years then started having problems with keeping the temperature stable. The fridge seems to stay pretty consistent now, but fan keeps running and freezer just keeps getting colder and colder (down to -19F or more). I replaced the thermostat but no luck. We unplugged it several times and it worked fine for a week or so then continued having problems more often. After reading other posts, I think it is a control board (which I hear the company knows has problems), and wonder if this is what I need to replace? I want to make sure there is only one board that needs to be replaced and get it right the first time. Can you tell me which one this is?

Doug, If the thermistors have already been replaced then yes the board would be the most likely cause and the part number for the board is 5303918556.

Our Frigidaire Fridge Dispenser Control Panel (on the door) started to behave erratically. The dispenser light will turn on and off by itself and beeps every time it does, the buttons won't work all the time, but could work only by a second of so and then will be dead again for some time. We turned the Fridge Off using the panel button and it will not turn on again because the button will not work, until I pressed and turned it on because the panel worked by a micro-second. It appears the panel dies and then come back to life for a brief moment and does that intermittently. The Fridge is working fine (Cools and freezes, internal lights turn on and off, etc..). The control panel calmed down when I pressed the keypad lock button and the dispenser light is not turning on and off by itself now while the Fridge is working fine. While the display control is locked, we can not use the Water/Ice dispenser and there is no info showing on the 2 displays. I have a feeling that replacing the Board-Control (part number AP5325143 / 241973712) will solve the issue, but I wanted to ask you first in case you think it may be a secondary problem of something else. Thanks in advance.

Todd, The mode likely cause for the issue would not be the control but a sticking switch on part number 242074223 which would need to be replaced for this issue.

My husband installed a new board-control in our frigidaire Refrigerator because the power failure alert is light is on and can't be cleared, and nothing else on the control pad will work until this can be cleared. This is the part we were told by Appliance Parts Pros would need to be replaced. However, the first one my husband installed has the same issue. So I checked with Appliance pros and they stated is could be bad and sent us a new board - control and we are still having the same issue. we hold down the reset for the power failure alert and it will not clear. What else could be the problem. we need help.

1 Answer

TF, The most likely cause for the dispenser board showing a PF would be intermittent power in which this would be caused by a faulty control board. The dispenser control board would not be the correct board but the Main control board 241891607 would be the issue.
