J T for Model Number PLEB30T8CCB Hi. I'm trying to repair a Frigidaire Double Oven, model PLEB30T8CCB. The baking elements for both the upper and lower ovens will not heat. When the bake function is turned on with either or both ovens, the broil element starts heating up fast but neither oven's bake elements heat at all. I've read that the broil element is suppose to do 20% of the heating task when bake pre-heat is in progress and the bake elements do the remaider of the job. Is this correct? I've measured the bake elements and they measure about 19 ohms each which I think is normal. Do these symptoms possibly indicate that both relay boards are bad or just one? Would resetting the thermal switch even help, i.e., could the thermal switch open(need resetting)because of the bake elements and the broil elements still work? I hope this makes sense. Thanks
Answer Hello JT. If it were the thermal switches, the broil would not work. It sounds like you need to order and replace both relay boards 318022001 318022002 on the unit. Before doing that though, look and make sure there is no wiring issue causing the issue. If the wiring is bad, the relay board may be good on the unit. Read More...
