Terri for Model Number 25355699407 I was fixing a cosmetic freezer door problem which was caused by the ice/water dispenser leaking water which resulted in bubbling out of paint and rusting the door. When I removed the faceplate for the dispenser, I accidentally disconnected the ribbon which connects the two control boards. When I reconnected (without turning off the power - my bad), the ice maker auger will not stop turning, dumping ice into the external chute. I've removed the microswitches completely, but if both boards are connected by the ribbon cable, the auger will not shut off. I was about to order both boards (241708309 and 241689101) when I saw a question from a user who had the same problem and replaced both boards, and this didn't fix it. A response on this site suggested testing a wiring harness at the bottom of the door for a short. I am wondering if this could apply to my model, and also how to do this, and wondering if I can do this before I order and try the boards (and if not, if the boards are indeed returnable if they don't fix the problem). Thanks
Answer Hello Terri, This does apply to your unit and the wiring harness 240552102 is at the bottom freezer door. The connector should be checked for moisture, discoloration, and malformation from heat, (heat is produced by a loose or shorting connection). All of the parts we sell are refundable for one year from the date of delivery with the exception of the shipping charge. Simply call us and give the model and serial number of the unit the part was for, and our representative can set up a return authorization. Read More...
