Ryan for Model Number FTF2140FS1 I was wondering if you would have some advice to a washer problem. I have a Frigidaire washer FTF2140FS1 and it gives me a error code of e55 which it says motor overheat so check ohm s on motor coils all good with spec sheet replaced speed control board with new didn't fix problem contacted another place which sells parts they say replace motor instead of new I choose a used one since another new piece will leave me halfway to a new washer already. Tried the motor still doesn't work. What do I try next the top control board? When in test mode all it doesn't do is spin and tumble. Attempted to see if it was sending power to motor and well not real sure how to check it but I had 114v on the coils when it wasn't set up to do anything and when I told it to spin the volts jumped around. I'm at a loss and ready to throw it out. I checked the tech sheet and I've replaced the two parts already it's said to replace, It wanted me to check the motor coils and they are all within the 6 ohm spec limit mine all measure 5.8 ohms i've replaced the speed control board and i've replaced the motor and the error code still comes back with E55. I was thinking of replacing the main control board since that's they only thing i haven't replaced yet but i wasnted someone else opinion since i've spent enough money on this washer trying to get it to work and i'll be halfways to a new unit already
Answer Ryan, You will want to make sure that you spin the tub pulley and make sure that the tub spins freely. If it does not then you will want to check the tub bearings. If the tub spins freely, the motor pulley spins freely and with a new speed control board, then you will want to make sure that there are good connections at the motor and board. If all wiring checks ok then the issue would be the main control board. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, July 11, 2014
