Steve for Model Number gltf2940fe2 Washer adds water for 5 seconds, retries every minute. Never spins. Replaced motor speed control. Worked for three weeks. Same problem returned. Error code E5E. Checked harness. Replaced main board. Same problem and error code. Reinstalled old speed control. Worked once. Rechecked wiring harness and connections. Tested motor resistance. Proper resistance on 3 posts, but 89 ohms on posts 4 to 5. Worked one cycle again, then not. Viewed 2 or 3 different error codes relating to tachometer and motor timeout, while troubleshooting and testing. What next?
Answer Steve, The E5E error is an indication of a communication problem between the speed control and the main control board. You will want to check the wiring between the 2 boards for damaged wires. If this checks ok then try replacing the speed control board again since the main board was replaced after the speed board and the main board could have cause a failure in the speed board.
