Hi, I have a Kenmore front load washing machine, model 41744052400. The problem is it won't drain and spin. I e-chatted with Sears on two occasions about the problem and their solutions didn't work. First, I was told the get a new washer drain pump. I did and it didn't fix the problem (and the rubber boot there was not clogged.) I contacted them again and was told it is the electronic control board. I ordered that and the problem still persists. Also, it was beeping a code error - 5 beeps followed by 9 single blinks. I hope you have the answer. Thanks, Curtis

Answer

Curtis, you will want to remove the belt from the pulley and rotate the motor pulley. It should rotate freely, if not, then you have a motor [137043000] issue. If it does rotate freely, then you will want to rotate the tub pulley and it should rotate freely as well. If it does not, then you may have a bearing [134509510] issue. If those check good, then you will want to test the motor windings for resistance. By measuring from pin 4 to pin 5 of the motor, you should get a reading between 105 to 130 ohms. Then you will want to test pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3, and pin 2 to pin 3 and all of those should read between 4 to 6 ohms. If any of those tests failed, then you have a bad motor [137043000].
