Tom for Model Number FRS26R4AW1 Freezer side fine, refrigerator side still warm. Initially found evaporator coils frozen over and evaporator fan cycling on and off. Defrosted coils, installed new Defrost Thermostat and Adaptive Defrost timer control board. Now damper seems to stay closed, but when I unplug unit, door opens and when plugged back in it cycles closed. Condenser, condenser fan and compressor working normal. evaporator fan now working fine and coils are defrosting as they should. What am I missing, seems to be a damper issue, but it has power and works when unit turned on and off? Thanks
Answer Hello Tom. The damper will be closed until the freezer gets to the correct temp, then should open to cool the fresh food side. If not, the cold control may be bad in the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 2, 2015
