Douglas December 21, 2020 for Model Number FRS26KR4CW0 The refrigerator side is getting too cold and freezing things. It comes and goes. Sometimes it operates normally for a time then it will turn colder. Some things will get frozen and others not, it is weird. What is the repair?. I was told I might need the 5304482075 contol box but that is now longer available and I am hoping for an alternate to save having to buy a new ref. Any help would be appreciated,
1 Answer Douglas, THe control box assembly would be the part that is needed for this issue. You would want to try the temperature control 240383703 to see if it will take care of the problem. Read More...

Julie Mitchell February 21, 2020 for Model Number PLHS267ZAB5 Hi, my (2003) Frigidaire Electrolox is freezing everything on the fresh food side of the fridge. I tried turning temp controls lower but seems as if the damper was staying open. When I turn the control to 0 the damper does not close. I replaced the damper but the fresh food side is still freezing. i did notice that the new damper had only one connection on the side were the old one had 2.
1 Answer Julie, For this issue, the most likely cause will be a faulty thermostat which would be part number 240383703. Read More...

Jeff August 03, 2019 for Model Number Frigidaire model Frs26lr5cwo My evaporator fan motor was having trouble starting up. It would cycle on and off and eventually run continuously like it was supposed to! It was keeping the frigerator side cold.and the freezer was freezing right. I changed the motor and it kept doing the same thing. When it would do this there was a clicking noise coming from where the adaptive defrost control box was located so I changed it out and put the new wiring harness like the instructions said. Now the freezer is freezing fine ice maker is making ice but the new control box is clicking worse. The evaporator fan motor is running better but now the damper is opening and closing frequently but it appears that I am getting less cold air to the frigerator side. Could a bad damper cause the box to click like that and cause these issues! Possibly need new damper assembly?
1 Answer Jeff, a bad damper can certainly cause the issues described. From the information provided, it sounds like there is a stripped gear in the damper motor 241600902. Read More...

Kristin April 03, 2016 for Model Number FRS23R4CW5 We had a power surge go through our house and the refrigerator stopped working, everything thawed and melted. We replaced the control box kit because we could see it looked burnt. That seemed to fix everything...until everything started freezing in the fresh food side. We thought the thermometer in the freezer had failed, but not the case. We replaced that as well and we still continue to have a fresh food side at around 25°. Do you have any ideas on what we can try next?
1 Answer Hello Kristin, This will either be caused by a frost build-up in the damper assembly, 241600902 or 241600906, or the fresh food cold control 241537104 has failed. Read More...

Dan November 07, 2015 for Model Number FRS26HF6BW2 Do you sell just the Damper with motor only? Is so, what is that part number? My defrost is working fine, Temp controls adjust fine, but my damper does not move so I put a piece of Duct tape across the Damper vent at 50% closed and tweak the temp freezer to a few degrees above zero, and the temp in the fridge almost stays 33-38 Degs F. It barely works this way for past year or so, lol. But think I only need the motor assembly.
1 Answer Dan, The manufacturer does not sell the damper for this unit separately anymore and you will need the control box assembly 5304482075. Read More...
