Lee for Model Number Frigidaire FRS26R4CQ0 I have a Frigidaire FRS26R4CQ0 and the refrigerator is not cooling. The freezer stays at 0 degrees, but the refrigerator side doesn't cool. I think the damper is not opening. I have removed the control assemble. Is there a way to test to see if the damper is opening? It could also be the refrigerator thermostat.
Answer Hello Lee. If you turn off the unit and then turn it back on, the damper should cycle open then closed. You can test for power to the damper motor. If there is power there and the damper does not cycle, replace the damper. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
