Shayne for Model Number PLHS237ZAB6 Our Frigidaire Gallery Side by Side was freezing the fresh compartment but all other functions were fine (beside poor water flow). I check the damper and it was not closing. I turned the thermostats off and the fan stopped but the damper remained open and the motor did not cycle. I ordered controller 5304482075 and installed it. The damper motor ran but the damper did not move. I removed the unit from the fridge to discover the damper spring missing. I removed the spring from the old controller and installed it and the damper functioned correctly. Fan worked, thermostats seemed to work all seemed well. The next day the fridge was warm and the freezer thawing. Warm air is coming from under the unit, air is flowing through the damper, and the compressor runs. I checked all connections, checked for kinks in the mercury tubes, and still the temperature remained above zero Centigrade on the freezer side and warm on the fridge. All I can see different on the controller is an extra electrical reference to the micro-switches on the damper motor. I reinstalled the old unit and the fridge functions correctly but the damper of course doesn't work. What is wrong?
