Abe for Model Number ATF6700FS2 I have a frigidaire front-loading washer model ATF6700FS2. I recently changed the door lock assembly and the control board, but now I get error code "E5E" (Communication Problem). The data sheet says to check the connection between the control board and the speed control board. What is the speed control board, and where is it located? Thanks.
Answer Hello Abe, The speed control is the electronic control board in the bottom of the unit that the motor is wired to. It is essentially the motor control board. When you "check" the connections, each connector should be removed and reconnected, one at a time of course so they don't get mixed up. If this doesn't correct the problem, the communication problem can be the machine control at the top not receiving the information correctly, or the speed control board in the bottom not sending the information correctly. The machine control at the top is the most likely board to be at fault since it can be affected more readily by a power surge. Read More...
