The Main Control Board is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It is the "brain" that regulates all dryer functions and features like sensor drying and temperature control.

Situated inside the dryer where it receives constant vibrations from spin cycles, the control board faces significant stresses over time. Causes of failure typically relate to standard component degradation.

Symptoms of a problematic main control board include:

  • Unresponsive or non-functional controls
  • Inability to select cycles or change temperature
  • Dryer fails to start, heat or tumble clothes

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Brian for Model Number FAQG7111LW0

Frigidaire gas dryer runs, but no heat. Ignitor never glows. When this first happened the dryer had been running for maybe ten minutes and quit, with the row of lights on the far right side of the panel flashing, and the numerical readout frozen with a few dashes lit on opposite sides of each other. This happened 15 months ago and I replaced the limiter and thermistor and all was good until now. I proceeded to dismantle the dryer and again found that the limiter was open/bad so I ordered one. I ordered another thermistor for good measure and installed both with no change to the runs with no heat issue. I then ordered a new ignitor and both gas valve solenoids, which, after installing them still runs/no heat. The flame sensor and two other fuses all test as closed, meaning they are good(?). I am unable to run a diagnostic to retrieve the trouble codes. Rotating the dial three clicks counterclockwise and then pressing the select and cancel buttons will give me a single buzzer after 6 seconds, but then immediately pressing the select and cancel buttons only gives me one buzzer, not three, after six seconds. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Answer

Brian, the flame sensor, outlet thermostat, hi-limit thermostat, and inlet thermal limiter should all read as a closed circuit when testing for continuity. It would be recommended that the main control 137070890NH is tested for 120VAC at the black wire of the heater relay to identify if the control is sending the voltage necessary during a normal heat cycle. If not, the main control would need to be replaced. If there is 120VAC, the dryer can be stopped, unplugged, and the wires would need to be inspected for any breaks. If there is not a damaged wire, it would be likely that the motor 5304529782 centrifugal switch has failed.
