The Main Control Board is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It is the "brain" that regulates all dryer functions and features like sensor drying and temperature control.

Situated inside the dryer where it receives constant vibrations from spin cycles, the control board faces significant stresses over time. Causes of failure typically relate to standard component degradation.

Symptoms of a problematic main control board include:

  • Unresponsive or non-functional controls
  • Inability to select cycles or change temperature
  • Dryer fails to start, heat or tumble clothes

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Brian for Model Number FAQG7111LW0

Frigidaire gas dryer runs, but no heat. Ignitor never glows. When this first happened the dryer had been running for maybe ten minutes and quit, with the row of lights on the far right side of the panel flashing, and the numerical readout frozen with a few dashes lit on opposite sides of each other. This happened 15 months ago and I replaced the limiter and thermistor and all was good until now. I proceeded to dismantle the dryer and again found that the limiter was open/bad so I ordered one. I ordered another thermistor for good measure and installed both with no change to the runs with no heat issue. I then ordered a new ignitor and both gas valve solenoids, which, after installing them still runs/no heat. The flame sensor and two other fuses all test as closed, meaning they are good(?). I am unable to run a diagnostic to retrieve the trouble codes. Rotating the dial three clicks counterclockwise and then pressing the select and cancel buttons will give me a single buzzer after 6 seconds, but then immediately pressing the select and cancel buttons only gives me one buzzer, not three, after six seconds. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Brian, the flame sensor, outlet thermostat, hi-limit thermostat, and inlet thermal limiter should all read as a closed circuit when testing for continuity. It would be recommended that the main control 137070890NH is tested for 120VAC at the black wire of the heater relay to identify if the control is sending the voltage necessary during a normal heat cycle. If not, the main control would need to be replaced. If there is 120VAC, the dryer can be stopped, unplugged, and the wires would need to be inspected for any breaks. If there is not a damaged wire, it would be likely that the motor 5304529782 centrifugal switch has failed.

Matthew, the flashing lights are going to indicate either there is a stuck button or that there is an error code stored in the main control. It is recommended that the error code retrieval process is done to identify if there is a stored error code. This can be done by rotating the knob counter-clockwise three positions then pressing and holding the select and cancel buttons until the buzzer sounds. Once the busser sounds, press and hold the select and cancel buttons until the buzzer sounds three more times (the display will alternate between Fld and the firmware revision number). From there, rotate the knob two positions clockwise and the most recent error code will show in the display. If the display shows an error code, it will need to be addressed. If it does not, the control 137070890NH would be the most likely cause of failure.

Jamie, There should be 120 Vac getting to the control board on the unit. Verify that you have 120 Vac from the center terminal to either of the outer 2 terminals on the terminal block of the unit. If there is proper power then check for a wiring issue. Also, make sure that the neutral wire is connected.

Laura, You most likely have a damaged control board 137070890NH Control, PCB, No Housing. Apparently, there is L1 voltage(120VAC) to the thermal fuse and the door switch or the drum light wouldn't work. You may or may not have L1 voltage to the control board (red/black wire on the J2 pin 1) If not, the wire between the thermal limiter and the control board is damaged or broken. If you do have the voltage on the red/black wire at the control board, There would be a defect in the control board itself.

Damp for Model Number FFQE5000QW1

My Frigidaire FFQE5000QW1 dryer just stopped working. It is for-sure getting power, I checked the terminals with a meter. The dryer vent was recently replaced and is still very clean. The inside of the dryer had a good amount of lint in it. I removed the back panel and have continuity on everything that I've found to test. The light bulb isn't coming on and the control panel isn't lighting up. It doesn't matter if the door is open or closed, or if we turn the knob or press buttons. Do you have any advice? Thanks very much for your time and consideration!

Damp, you will want to confirm that there is 240VAC when reading the voltage of the red wire and the black wire together at the terminal block. If there is, then you will want to check the inlet thermal limiter that is wired just after the terminal block going to the main control. If this limiter has 120VAC going in and 120VAC going out, then you will want to test the main control for 120VAC at connection J2 pin 1 for 120VAC. If there is not 120VAC, then the outlet thermal limiter 134711401 would be the cause.

Alan, This E8C Error means that the safety thermostat (High Limit) has tripped too many times within a certain period of program time. Check for blocked lint filter, blocked exhaust, air leaks around air duct, broken blower fan blades, worn or loose drum seals, dryer installed in closet with solid doors or door seal not correctly seated.

Danny for Model Number 81122

Item# 02681122000 Description: Kenmore 7.0 cu. ft. Electric Dryer w/ Wrinkle Guard - White http://www.sears.com/kenmore-7.0-cu-ft-electric-dryer-w-wrinkle/p-02681122000P Started about a week ago. Put some clothes in to dry....about halfway through the cycle I entered laundry room to retrieve something and noticed the dryer had stopped and the lights were flashing on the right (the drying, cool down, and wrinkle guard lights). Looked online and it says those lights seems to be some sort of "code". Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a "break" in the flashing...they just continuously flash at the same rate. (I have a 30 second video showing the lights if that'll help). Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Danny, In order to assist and advise you properly, we will need the 11 digit model number from the production plate on the inside of the dryer door opening (i/e 111.12345678). This si the way we determine the manufacturer and retrieve any technical information needed to assist you. The item number or Sears/Kenmore designation numbers don't cross reference to the information we need. Thanks,
