Jessica for Model Number GE WSM2780WAWWW Hi I have the natural to LP conversion kit PCK3100. My question is on the original assembly I have the flame spreader type burner, but a ice cream type burner is included with the kit. Do I have to change those out? If so, can you explain how to use the adaptor included in the kit to get from the flame spreader to the ice cream scoop type burner? The instructions are very vague and the picture included is not legible. Thanks in advance for the help!
Answer Hello Jessica. Yes, you will replace the burner. Disconnect electrical power supply to laundry center. Shut off the gas at the individual shut off valve. Gain access to the valve by removing the dryer access panel, dryer safety cover and dropping the console assembly. Loosen the valve union fitting. Remove the screws that fastens the burner assembly to the access shield of the dryer. Disconnect the 2 molex (plastic) connectors from the gas valve. Disconnect the 2 wires that connect to the radiant sensor. Remove the burner assembly from the dryer. Remove the screws that fasten the burner tube and heat shield to the main mounting bracket. Remove the screws that fasten the burner to the main mounting bracket. Remove the original orifice from the gas valve assembly and install the new orifice (#55) from this kit. Tighten securely. Remove the leak limiter and install the L.P. blocking pin. Note: Save the original parts (orifice & leak limiter, items 1 & 2) in case it is required to convert the dryer back to natural gas. Assemble the adapter to the main mounting bracket. Assemble the air shutter to the stainless steel burner. with one (1) small #8 screw. Adjust the air shutter to a 3/8” opening and tighten. Assemble the ignitor to the adapter with one (1) small #8 screw. Connect the ignitor harness to the adapter with the push mount cable tie. Cut off excess strap. Assemble the stainless steel burner w/air shutter to the adapter with the two (2) large #10 screws. Assemble the burner tube and heat shield to the main mounting bracket. Affix the red conversion label to the shut-off valve. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, August 4, 2016
