Steve for Model Number FRS6R3JBO My damper control is making a noise and now the freezer side is not maintaining a constant temperature. Are these issues related or do I need to look further?
Answer Hello Steve, The damper, (one switch 241600906) or, (two switches 241600902), controls the amount of cold is shared from the freezer to the fresh food compartment. The first indication to the customer is that items in the fresh food section will freeze. The freezer side will always warm up a little when the fresh food section gets more cold, so the two issues can definitely be related. At the same time, if the fresh food section isn't getting too cold, there will be a different issue mingled into the mix. I think I would first pull the unit out and make sure the compressor is running. Make sure, while you're back there, to insure the condenser fan motor is running.
