Ken January 04, 2022 for Model Number PHS69EJSS0 I heard the damper grinding in the vent and got the flashing 4 code. Found it torn up inside. I installed a new damper kit and plugged back in. Everything started and I checked to see if there was air coming through the vent, and there was. I heard the damper move so I thought we were good. The 4 started flashing again. Do I need to clear the code or is something else the problem ? Thanks, Ken
1 Answer Ken, With the damper having been replaced, this would be a faulty control board that will need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Jamal, Unfortunately, this damper 241600906 would not work for your unit. The part number for the damper on your model would be 5304482075 but unfortunately has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available. Read More...
Claude August 25, 2021 for Model Number FFHS2622MSB Hi, refrig not cooling below 63, while freezer at 12 degrees. Cleaned coils, no avail. Compressor on with evap fan blowing. When freezer door is open, cold air flows smoothly thru damper into refrig side. When Freezer door closes, flow slows to dribble, if at all. What could be causing this? Does damper open fully (silently) when freezer door opens? One would think Damper would be open when door is closed, not open. Could this be thermostat issue?
1 Answer Claude, The first thing to check will be the evaporator coils in the rear of the freezer compartment and check for impacted coils with ice. If this is the case then it will be a defrost issue and you will want to test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat for continuity. If they are both good then the control board would be the issue. Read More...
Chris March 08, 2021 for Model Number frs6hr5jmbo Hello, I need an air damper control for my Frigidaire model frs6hr5jmbo refrigerator. When I search the site, it provides damper number 241600906 as the replacement part. But when I put my refrigerator model number in the appliance compatibility tool, it says that the part is NOT compatible. What is the correct replacement part for my refrigerator? Thanks, Chris
Mark T February 04, 2021 for Model Number PHS69EJSS0 I have replaced the dampener and the the cooling problem was fixed for a week or two but now it is not cooling the fridge again but the freezer is working. Can someone please help me figure out what is causing this? Thanks Mark T.
1 Answer Mark T, Based on the description of the issue I would first check the frost pattern on the evaporator to see if it is even or heavily coated or possibly partially coated. You could have a defrost issue where the ice and frost are building up and stopping the air flow. Read More...

Marcia June 08, 2020 for Model Number FFHS2611LWMA I keep getting different part numbers for the damper assembly is the correct part 242303001? I'm so confused. I have read that if it is clicking and the refrigerator is warm this is the part I need. I do feel a little bit of ice in that one thing too but not too much. Please tell me if I'm on the right track or not. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Marcia, You will need to order 242303001 for the model provided. Unplug the refrigerator and stick your head in the fresh food compartment, have someone plug the refrigerator back into the outlet. This should initiate the operation of the damper. If it never stops cycling, the damper will need to be replaced to correct the issue. Read More...
Junior February 06, 2020 for Model Number FRS6LF7JM0 Replaced the damper assembly in August 2019, it has gone bad again today. It started making a loud racket today just the same as before. The refrigerator was built 04/08 , the original damper lasted 11 yrs and 4 months why did this replacement only last 6 months????
1 Answer Junior, it is recommended that the damper is inspected for anything that may be obstructing the door such as ice. If there is an obstruction, it would need to be removed. If the obstruction is ice, then the door seals would need to be inspected as this would likely be an air leak causing this issue. If there are no obstructions, then the next possibility would be the frequency of the damper opening and closing. If the damper has been opening and closing excessively before this failure, the next question would be if the compressor has been running for long periods of time. If not, then it is likely that the ADC board 242011001 has caused it to fail. If the damper has not been opening and closing excessively before this failure, it is possible that the gear may have had a weak spot that has eventually broken. Read More...
