Patricia T. Frigidaire double wall oven 45 years old. The baking heating element in the lower oven heats, but does not regulate. It just keeps heating upward. Broiler works fine. Will replacing the baking heating element correct the problem with the lower oven? The upper oven has no problem. Thanks.
Answer Hello Patricia, This sounds like you have a problem with the thermostat. The thermostat is the component that cycles the bake element on and off. Since you mentioned it is 45 years old, I'm not sure if we can pull the proper part number but in order to try, we will have to get the model number of the unit from the units' I.D. tag.
