Roy for Model Number FED355DSA My daughter's range popped and tripped the breaker. I reset the breaker and the burners began working, but the oven is not getting hot on top or lower element. I have not checked either for continuity, but doubt both would fail at one time. Should I call the repairman @ $165 or just replace the control board! Pop may be unable to fix everything after all!
Answer Roy, you will want to first test the voltage at the power block at the back of the range for 240VAC. From there, if you turn on the bake setting, you should receive 240VAC when touching the multimeter probes on both of the element terminals. If you are not receiving 240VAC, then you have either a bad wire or a bad control which the wire can be tested for continuity. Read More...
