Deborah for Model Number 790.468 Sears Kenmore Dual Fuel range Slide-in model purchased in 2001 The baking element caught on fire and broke in two. So, it needs to be replaced. Is this something I can do myself? Is it fairly easy to do? Do the screws come with the order or can I reuse the existing ones? Obviously, I have never done this, so some guidance is needed. Thanks.
Answer Hello Deborah. These are not hard to do. First disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the screws holding the old element in place. Pull the element out and remove the wires from the element. Install the wires onto the new element. Reposition the new element, and install the old screws. Turn the power back on. Hope this helps.
