Elizabeth S for Model Number Fridgidaire Crown Series Front load washer c. 2002 Can you tell me if the check valve on this is a flap or ball style valve? Also is the check valve supposed to stop 100% of the back flow of water? Had the machine apart and decided to rinse out hose. With the hose under a column of water the check valve allowed a slow, small trickle of water out? The husband thinks this is not as it ought to be so we are checking with the people who know, you guys.
Answer Elizabeth, The unit would have a check ball on the tube that runs to the bottom of the tub and the water pump would most likely have a flap style. When cleaning the unit there will be a trickle of water even with the check ball and flap in place properly. The unit will not drain water when the drain is in the standpipe because it does not have enough force without the drain pump to push the water out. There will always be some water in the unit but only about a 1/4 gallon at the most. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 25, 2013
