Peter for Model Number FGHS2355PF I'm trying to figure out how to reduce the cube size in my ice maker (Servo P/N 241709804, Model No. IM20-1). The ice maker is not "side" mounted like most of the "fix it" videos show (I've yet to find a video with this particular model anyways). Do I need to remove the entire ice maker in order to adjust the cube size, or does the little translucent knob (to the left of, and slightly below, the power switch) have something to do with it? Thanks!
Answer Peter, You do not need to remove the ice maker, to adjust the water level, and yes the " little translucent knob" has to be removed. here are the instructions " The water fill can be adjusted without removing the ice maker cover. To adjust the fill size, remove the small round plug next to the On/Off Switch. Insert a #2 Phillips screwdriver into the hole about an inch or until it engages the Water Fill Adjustment Screw. Turn the screw clockwise to reduce the fill size; turn the screw counterclockwise to increase the fill size. One turn equals approx 20cc (0.68 oz). The correct fill is 85 to 95cc (2.75 to 3.25 oz). When a water valve is replaced, check the fill volume. " Be careful with the adjustments, a 1/2, and no more than 1 complete turn of the adjustment screw at a time, you can cause the icemaker to overflow if you're not careful. Read More...
