Davidk for Model Number Frigidaire FGMV174KFA The door on my unit very suddenly stopped latching shut. I've determined that the little hook inside the door frame to which the tensioning spring (Part#AP3770117) attaches (the other end of the spring, of course, attaching to a similar hook on the latch itself) has broken off. It seems I have two options, either buy the (rather expensive) part #AP4459303 or try to epoxy the broken hook back on (not sure how much tension the spring exerts so I'm not sure how likely a repair like this is to hold). So, two questions: 1. IS AP4459303 the part I'd need to replace? 2. What's the liklihood that gluing the piece back in place would hold?
Answer David, If just the latch broke then it would not be necessary to replace the complete door. You could replace the latch itself which is part number 5304440314. The epoxy would most likely not hold. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, May 7, 2013
