Mojoe316 for Model Number Frigidaire LGUS2642LF0 My fridge freezer unit dispenser is stuck "ON" so if cubed ice is selected on the menu it will keep dispensing ice. If you switch to water it will keep dispensing water. If you open the door it will stop but then when you close the door it starts up again. It finally stopped after pushing the switch on the inside a bunch of times to simulate the door being closed even while it is open. Everything seems to be fine but the light on the front of the unit is now stuck on and wont go off. This happened a few days ago and now again so I know there is something wrong and all signs point to electrical. The forums I have read suggest a switch or board issue but I do not know how to go about checking which might be the problem. Do you have an idea what the problem is and if it might be the switch or board how I would check which one it is? It actually seems like it would be the board because it is the only thing common to the light, ice and water. Please help! Thank you!
Answer Hello MoJoe316. Check for a stuck lever. If none is found, you will need to test the micro-switch in the unit and see if it is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
