  • Acts as a position sensor that completes or breaks the control circuit when the door/lid is closed or opened
  • Keeps the appliance from starting or continuing a cycle if the door is open (safety interlock)
  • Common symptom fix: appliance won't start, stops mid-cycle, or shows door-related error codes
  • Small electrical switch designed to mount at the door latch or frame and connect to the appliance wiring harness
What's included: One micro switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (unplug or shut off breaker) before attempting service
  • Access may require removing panels, trim, or the door latch assembly; keep track of screws and fasteners
  • Observe wiring orientation and connector positions; replace exactly as removed or tag wires

Richard for Model Number Frigidaire FRS26R4CWE

Our ice maker has been giving us trouble off and on for quite sometime. To get it to make make ice when the switch bail is in off position we have had to move from off to on to get the unit to start making ice. three days ago I dropped the switch to on position and maker dumped one time and made no more ice. the unit is dispensing water and filter was replaced last month. It has given us very little trouble until now. 1.Tray compartments have no water in them at present. 2.No ice build-up in water supply line or spout to the tray 3.Have turned thermostat to lowest temp. setting no change. 4.No water spillage apparent in any part of freezer compart ment.

Answer

Hello Richard. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
