Alla M. for Model Number FRS6HR4HB6 My ice cube dispenser will not dispense ice from the door. The water dispenser works fine. The lever pushes in but there is no electrical sound that the switch is working. The ice maker is working fine there is plenty of ice. Is it a switch in the door ice & water dispenser, or is it a switch in the icemaker unit in the freezer?
Answer Alla, The first check to make is at the freezer door bottom hinge, make sure there are no loose connections, damaged or broken wires. Then press the ice dispenser lever, listen closely for a "click", your refrigerator has two actuator switches, one for the water and one for the ice. if you don't hear or feel the click from the switch when the paddle is pressed, then dismantle the dispenser and check the switch and paddle. If the switch clicks, then the most likely problem is the auger motor inside the freezer compartment, behind the ice bin, inside the bracket assembly. Read More...
