Rey for Model Number PLES389CCB

My Frigidaire electric range on the front panel, says door locked. The buttons for the following do not work: 1. Convec. Bake 2. Convec. Roast 3. Bake 4. Pre heat 5. Broil6. Clean 7. Lock 8. Stop time The oven door cannot be opened. I followed the instructions on the trouble shooting to try to fix it, by unplugging it for two minutes and then plugged it back on. The door still cannot be opened. Can you please tell me what else to do to fix my this electric range? This is a Frigidaire professional model # ples389ccb serail # nf32113761. Thank you

Answer

Hello Rey, You will need to pull the unit from its' installed position to access the rear of the unit. You will need to remove the power from the unit and remove the rear panel to expose the door lock motor. When removed, you will be able to open the door. You will then need to replace either the door lock motor assembly 318095957 or the clock assembly 318183620 since one or the other is responsible for the failure. You can put the unit into a clean cycle and check for 120Vac being supplied to the motor if you are comfortable with testing live voltage. If the voltage is being sent to the motor and it does not respond, the door lock motor is bad. If voltage is not received at the motor, the issue will be in the wiring or the clock assembly 318183620.
