Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Motor (Drive) (Part Number: OEM13061292)

Donnie, you will want to inspect the locking rod and mechanism [318118904] to ensure that it has not broken. If it has, it is no longer available as it was discontinued by the manufacturer. Another thing to check for is the motor [318095957] itself to ensure that it is engaging the locking rod. If it is not engaging properly and not causing the locking rod to move and place the door latch into a lock position, then you would want to change it out.

Robert, Here are the steps to take to see if the lock assembly needs replaced or the control board. 1. Press CLEAR key. 2. If CLEAR key does not eliminate problem, turn off power for 30 seconds, then turn on power. 3. Check wiring of Lock Motor, and Lock Switch A and Door Switch circuits. 4. Unplug P4, apply power (L1) directly to the Lock Motor, if the motor does not rotate, replace Lock Motor Assembly. Plug P4. 5. Check Lock Switch A for proper operation (do they open and close, check with ohmmeter). The Lock Motor may be powered as in above step to open and close Lock Switch. If the Lock Switch is defective, replace Motor Lock Assembly. 6. If all above steps fail to correct situation, replace control

The last time I cleaned the oven it wouldn’t unlock so I had a repair man come. He removed the motor that controls the door latch and I decided to not have him replace it because of the age of the stove but with the instructions to never push the clean button. Well as you can guess it got pushed! Now there is a constant beeping and in order to cancel it we had to shut the power off to the stove. Is there a way to disconnect something to disable the horrible beeping?

1 Answer

Norma, Unfortunately there is no way to stop the beeping without replacing the motor on the unit.

Don, With the unit not even attempting to lock the door and just goes back to the clock then this issue would likely be caused by a faulty control board.

My Frigidaire electric range on the front panel, says door locked. The buttons for the following do not work: 1. Convec. Bake 2. Convec. Roast 3. Bake 4. Pre heat 5. Broil6. Clean 7. Lock 8. Stop time The oven door cannot be opened. I followed the instructions on the trouble shooting to try to fix it, by unplugging it for two minutes and then plugged it back on. The door still cannot be opened. Can you please tell me what else to do to fix my this electric range? This is a Frigidaire professional model # ples389ccb serail # nf32113761. Thank you

Hello Rey, You will need to pull the unit from its' installed position to access the rear of the unit. You will need to remove the power from the unit and remove the rear panel to expose the door lock motor. When removed, you will be able to open the door. You will then need to replace either the door lock motor assembly 318095957 or the clock assembly 318183620 since one or the other is responsible for the failure. You can put the unit into a clean cycle and check for 120Vac being supplied to the motor if you are comfortable with testing live voltage. If the voltage is being sent to the motor and it does not respond, the door lock motor is bad. If voltage is not received at the motor, the issue will be in the wiring or the clock assembly 318183620.
