Donnie for Model Number Frigidaire PLCS389DCB The door on my oven will not lock. A push of the lock button does nothing. Holding the lock button for several seconds causes the red lock light and the door locked indication to come on (but the door doesn’t lock). Holding clear for several seconds also causes the same lights to come on and the door doesn’t lock. Is this the lock motor not working and needing to be replaced? Or is it probably something else?
Answer Donnie, you will want to inspect the locking rod and mechanism [318118904] to ensure that it has not broken. If it has, it is no longer available as it was discontinued by the manufacturer. Another thing to check for is the motor [318095957] itself to ensure that it is engaging the locking rod.
