Answer Hello Joel, This control has the buttons made in the control. The overlay is only used to indicate where to mash to get the correct button to activate the feature you wish to use. You can certainly use the old overlay. Just use a knife along the edge to carefully remove it from the old clock. If you just pull on it, it will crease it and make the overlay look cosmetically bad.
