Christopher for Model Number FFET1222QWO Starting hearing an unusually loud noise/humming coming from the evaporator fan area a few days ago but didn't have the time to disassemble and check right then. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and freezer stopped freezing. When I removed the freezer evaporator cover, the fan would not run. It would oscillate a few degrees every couple of minutes, but even that seems to have stopped. The compressor runs only if the evaporator fan motor is disconnected. Compressor shuts down as soon as the fan motor is plugged in. Interior refrigerator light works fine. I set the temperature control to #5 but defaults to #3 when the fan motor is plugged in. Evaporator fan motor label states "DC 12V 4W" I seem to be getting about 11.6 VDC at the plug when I disconnect the fan motor. Does this sound like a defective evaporator fan motor or circuit board or something else? Thanks in advance.
Answer Christopher, This would be a faulty evaporator fan motor that will need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, February 18, 2022
