For Frigidaire Refrigerator Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM17865492)

Alan for Model Number FFTR1022QB0

I noticed all 5 lights on the temp control panel were illuminated, first flashing, then steady on, and temp in the fridge and freezer was rising. Turned off power for several minutes, then back on, in hopes of a reset. Did not work. However, two hours later the fridge began working fine with only one light (middle setting) on temp control panel. Has happened twice in two weeks now. I have ordered a new PC Control Board (p/n AP5955161 (5304498695)) to replace this 5 yr old board. Am I on the right path? Thanks for the assistance!

Christopher for Model Number FFET1222QWO

Starting hearing an unusually loud noise/humming coming from the evaporator fan area a few days ago but didn't have the time to disassemble and check right then. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and freezer stopped freezing. When I removed the freezer evaporator cover, the fan would not run. It would oscillate a few degrees every couple of minutes, but even that seems to have stopped. The compressor runs only if the evaporator fan motor is disconnected. Compressor shuts down as soon as the fan motor is plugged in. Interior refrigerator light works fine. I set the temperature control to #5 but defaults to #3 when the fan motor is plugged in. Evaporator fan motor label states "DC 12V 4W" I seem to be getting about 11.6 VDC at the plug when I disconnect the fan motor. Does this sound like a defective evaporator fan motor or circuit board or something else? Thanks in advance.

Christopher, This would be a faulty evaporator fan motor that will need to be replaced.

Art, based on the information provided, it would be recommended that the control is tested for voltage. The black and white wire connector should have a continuous 120VAC supply. If there is correct voltage, then the failure is going to be in the main control.

Tom, If the heater and defrost thermostat check ok then this issue would be caused by the control board not going into the defrost.

Hello Vince, It is common for the adjustment being made to be reversed since refrigeration can be confusing. I would recommend setting the refrigerator setting colder to see if this helps the situation. You see, in a refrigerator, the items in the bottom and in the drawers will start to freeze if the air circulation is insufficient. By setting the temperature colder, you actually increase the air circulation in the fresh food compartment which prevents the cold air from settling in the bottom and causing items to freeze. If this does not work, you may need to replace the control board 5304498695.

Ernest, The interior light and the control board use the same power source(120 VAC) Since the interior light works, you'll need to check for loose connections or damaged wires to/at the control board. If all's OK, replace the control board 5304498695 / 5304498695 PC Board, control, main.

Steve, We would need to have a model number to be able to assist. The only way to test the board is power in and out of the board. Our control boards are not returnable if installed.
