Answer Mary, when you turn your oven on, does it try to light, do you see a reddish glow coming from the oven? You may have a burner that has a large hole in it and is letting too much gas go through it before it ignites. If that is not the case, you would need to get some gas leak detector and go over the joints and tubing around the back of the oven, also, check the connection where the house supply attaches to the oven.
