The Regulator is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges and cooktops. It is a valve component that regulates gas flow from the supply line into the appliance burners. Carefully controlling fuel input maintains proper and safe burner flame sizes.

Symptoms of a bad regulator include:

  • Burners producing uneven or excessively high flames
  • Inability to reduce burner flames properly
  • Gas leaks at the regulator connections

Causes of failure involve wear of internal sealing parts over extended use. Corrosion or debris clogging gas passages can also disrupt flow regulation.

This OEM Frigidaire replacement regulator ensures optimal and reliable burner performance. Compatible with some Amana, Electrolux, and KitchenAid models as well, regular replacements prevent dangerous gas line issues from developing.

For Frigidaire Regulator (Part Number: OEM17406534)

Peter for Model Number FGGF3045RFC

Hello, There appears to be a gas leak inside our oven. We came home and the kitchen smelled strongly of gas. After opening all the windows, we traced it to inside the oven. (This is with the oven turned off.) After venting the room, we left the oven closed for a bit and when we opened it, the gas smell was strong again so we shut off the gas and disconnected it. (The oven is about 4 years old.) Would this be the regulator failing? Or are there other parts that could cause this problem? Thank you

Peter, Yes, there could be an issue with the regulator, but there are other components to check for leaks. You'll need to make a solution of detergent and water or purchase a bottle of d gas leak detector. With the valve open, start at the wall inlet pipe and valve using the leak detector and checking for "bubbles" on all the gas line connections to and from the regulator, and then check the gas line connections to the gas safety valve 316031501 and orifice hood. The safety valve is more likely to be the issue, based on your post.

Pam, You will first want to check at the control board with the unit set to broil for 120 Vac from the blue wire to the white wire. If there is voltage there and the igniter is new then the issue will be the oven safety valve.

Mary, You should make sure that your door seals correctly. If the seal seams or appears damaged it can be replaced.5304498835 If the oven is to hot you can check your oven temp sensor for the resistance of 1100 ohms at room temp.

Mary, when you turn your oven on, does it try to light, do you see a reddish glow coming from the oven? You may have a burner that has a large hole in it and is letting too much gas go through it before it ignites. If that is not the case, you would need to get some gas leak detector and go over the joints and tubing around the back of the oven, also, check the connection where the house supply attaches to the oven.

Hello Del, You will need to remove the large nut on the regulator and there will be a small device inside it called a gas stop. This piece will need to be flipped over and reinstalled. After re-installing the large nut and turning the gas back on you will need to check for leaks with a lightly soaped water mixture, (one teaspoon of liquid detergent to one quart of water), before re-establishing the power to the unit.
