By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM17406534
Manufacturer Part Number: 316091711

The Regulator is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges and cooktops. It is a valve component that regulates gas flow from the supply line into the appliance burners. Carefully controlling fuel input maintains proper and safe burner flame sizes.

Symptoms of a bad regulator include:

  • Burners producing uneven or excessively high flames
  • Inability to reduce burner flames properly
  • Gas leaks at the regulator connections

Causes of failure involve wear of internal sealing parts over extended use. Corrosion or debris clogging gas passages can also disrupt flow regulation.

This OEM Frigidaire replacement regulator ensures optimal and reliable burner performance. Compatible with some Amana, Electrolux, and KitchenAid models as well, regular replacements prevent dangerous gas line issues from developing.

Peter for Model Number FGGF3045RFC

Hello, There appears to be a gas leak inside our oven. We came home and the kitchen smelled strongly of gas. After opening all the windows, we traced it to inside the oven. (This is with the oven turned off.) After venting the room, we left the oven closed for a bit and when we opened it, the gas smell was strong again so we shut off the gas and disconnected it. (The oven is about 4 years old.) Would this be the regulator failing? Or are there other parts that could cause this problem? Thank you

Answer

Peter, Yes, there could be an issue with the regulator, but there are other components to check for leaks. You'll need to make a solution of detergent and water or purchase a bottle of d gas leak detector. With the valve open, start at the wall inlet pipe and valve using the leak detector and checking for "bubbles" on all the gas line connections to and from the regulator, and then check the gas line connections to the gas safety valve 316031501 and orifice hood. The safety valve is more likely to be the issue, based on your post.
