Stephen for Model Number m6y12f2a-c My maytag a/c was working fine, then it started growling to the point it woke me up and I turned it off. The nest morning I went to turn it on and it started vibrating and growling and then it tripped the breaker. I reset the breaker and touched the a/c and I felt electrical current in my hand. So its unplgged and I am troubleshooting it. I think it cooked the capacitor?
Answer Hello Stephen. You will need to check the fan motors and the compressor on the unit. You can also test the capacitors. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
