Tricia Sipos November 06, 2021 for Model Number MFU20F3GW7 Frigidaire UPRIGHT I BOUGHT THIS BRAND NEW IN @ 2000 ish . It has been plugged in my garage in the same spot since I brought it home in . My garage is not climate controlled, live in Missouri. hot summers & cold winters. I have had no problems with it until the last year or so. I opened it one day and everything was thawing, I removed the food, unplugged it and plugged it back in the next day. It worked just fine for a month or so and then did it again. I repeated doing this a few times and then just kept water jugs in it for cooler ice so no loss when stops working. What would cause it to work for a time and then stop ? when working it freezes solid with no problems. I would like to fix it but where should I start ? What should I do first? much thanx... Tricia & Steve

1 Answer Michael, If the compressor is the only thing not running then you would want to check to make sure that there is power to the start device. If there is power then the issue will be a faulty start device which will need to be replaced. Read More...

Al Christofano March 14, 2019 for Model Number GFU21M4GW0 My freezer is freezing after I defrosted it on the top of the freezer, I put a thermometer in the freezer and the temperature only reads 20 degrees, when shutting the door there is no vacuum to the door. The door seal is in good condition.
1 Answer Al, If only the top shelf is frosting up then this would be a issue with the sealed system in which you would need to have service for this issue. Read More...
1 Answer Ron, Unfortunately there is no way to test the start relay for a compressor. You would want to test voltage to the relay and as long as it is getting 120 vac to it the compressor should run. If you were to change the relay and the compressor still does not start then the compressor would be the issue. Read More...
